An Bang: the lively choice
An Bang is the beach with the scene: a row of relaxed cafes and bars behind decent sand, calm and shallow water through the summer, and sunbeds for hire. It is the easy pick for a long lunch and a swim, and the closest good beach to the old town.
Cua Dai: quieter, partly eroded
Cua Dai was the original resort beach and still has the big hotels, but erosion has narrowed sections of sand and added breakwaters. The northern end, where it meets An Bang, is the nicest stretch. Come here if you want fewer people.
Getting there
Both are a short ride from the old town. The prettiest way is a flat morning bike tour from $30 through the paddies, or just rent a bicycle. Our beaches guide covers My Khe in Da Nang too.
Cycle to the sand
A flat morning bike loop from the old town through the paddies to the coast.
