What the Golden Bridge actually is
The Golden Bridge is a curving golden walkway held aloft by two enormous weathered stone hands, perched on a mountainside in the Sun World Ba Na Hills park. It is a modern attraction, opened in 2018, but the setting and the cable car ride up are spectacular. The same ticket covers the French Village, gardens, a funicular and a fantasy park, so it is a full day out.
Getting there from Hoi An
Ba Na Hills is about 90 minutes from Hoi An, past Da Nang and up into the hills. The cable car system holds world records for length and height, and the queues for it can be long. A small-group deluxe tour from $21 handles the transfer, the cable car and the entrance in one booking, which is why most visitors skip the DIY route. For a slightly different pick-up pattern there is a Hoi An or Da Nang group tour from $99 with a smaller group size.
How to do it well
Go early. The bridge is at altitude and tends to cloud over in the afternoon, and the crowds peak around lunchtime. Bring a light layer because it is cooler than the coast, and budget time for the cable car both ways. If you have a spare day, pair the visit with the Marble Mountains on the way back toward Hoi An.

About 40 km, or roughly 90 minutes by road each way. Because of the distance and the cable car queues, almost everyone visits on an organised day tour rather than self-driving.
Small-group deluxe day tours start from around $21 per person and usually include the round-trip transfer, the cable car ticket and entry to the Sun World park. Private and premium options cost more.
Arrive as early as possible. The bridge sits at altitude and clouds often roll in by mid-afternoon, while the crowds peak around midday. An early tour gives you the clearest views and the best photos.
